I’m Hazel.

Information Security Analyst.

Daytona Beach native. Born with a keyboard in my hands. Raised by computers. 7 years of work experience. Skilled in Information Assurance, Information Technology, and SharePoint Development. Hobbies include candle making, oil painting, writing haikus, playing with my dog, and listening to video game soundtracks.

The Beginning

My curiosity for coding and computers began when I was 8 years old. I discovered the children’s website, NeoPets and wanted to have the prettiest layouts for my page. I would be on W3Schools for hours learning basic HTML code. This continued on through the ages of Myspace, and Tumblr.

Eventually the fascination evolved into a competitive hobby. I joined my school’s robotics team. Robotics wasn’t enough for me, so a few great mentors helped me start a Cyber Patriot team my senior year. My commitment to technology was cemented in 2013 after my team placed 3rd in Florida (out of 18).

Information Assurance

I began interning at Raydon in 2013 as an Information Assurance intern. I got hired on full time as an Information Assurance Analyst. My roles include:

– Securing Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

– Scanning and analyzing vulnerabilities.

– Configuring DoD compliant security policies, group policies, and settings.

– Keeping systems patched and updated.

– Automated deployment scripts of policies and patches.

-Curation of IA policy documentation.

-Coordination with Software and DevOps to roll out product releases that meet ATO criteria.

SharePoint Development

In 2015 I took on a new role at the same company as a SharePoint Developer. This role consisted of many tasks not isolated to SharePoint Development. My day to day work consisted of:

– Management of the company’s SharePoint Infrastructure.

– Automation of departmental processes via Microsoft Flow, Power Automate, InfoPath, and Nintex.

– Maintenance of PowerBi dashboards.

– Backend maintenance of our company’s website.

– Coordinating the training, implementation, and testing of new o365 features.

– Assisting coworkers with software issues via service request queue.

– Assisting IT in day to day operations and planning.

– CostPoint Cloud Migration. Including SQL Database collation, and cleanup as well as coordinating the upgrade testing and rollout of updates.
